Viennese guest rooms

At the first floor of our vinegar brewery in Vienna’s 10th district, we opened 5 guest rooms. Together with the building owner Erwin Gegenbauer, the architects heri&salli - Heribert Wolfmayr and Josef Saller – let uncover brick walls, wooden ceilings and steel beams. History turns to be present as you can currently see traces of former building works on the red brick walls. This industrial charm is reflecting the surrounding of our manufactory, which was founded in 1929. It is also punctuated through raw and rough materials as well as through clearly visible mechanical details. We relinquish any technical seductions on purpose; in fact the focus is on capturing the essence. For us the essence mainly involves the handcraft, which is contributed by plumbers, carpenters, bricklayers etc., in order to make a room habitable and therefore functional.
